Bow Cycle's Manliest Moustache Contest

After six weeks of anticipation, Bow Cycle held its first moustache contest on September 2, 2006. A dozen staff members vied for top place overall, as well as in categories such as the creepiest, worst, and most stylish moustache. Staff had the opportunity to strut their stuff down the stairs, pose for our female judging panel and test how much milk their moustache could hold.

While Hallett tried to impersonate the 'Farva' (Supertroopers) moustache, others got creative with their shaving and created their own style. In the end, Dazoo won over the judging panel, consisting of the female Bow Cycle staff, with his full-yet-stylish western-themed handlebar 'stache, and walked away with the grand prize of $150. Clint was a close 2nd place with his energetic strut and earned bonus points for having more hair on his lip than head. Jay finished 3rd with his trailer-park-themed ensemble.
  • Overall Winners
    1st - Dazoo
    2nd - Clint
    3rd - Jay

  • Creepiest Moustache - James
  • Milkiest Moustache - Matt
  • Worst Moustache - Rabbit
  • Fullest Moustache - Bart
  • Most Stylish Moustache - Franzky

Got Milk? Dazoo takes First Overall with his countrified 'stache.

Clint wonders how his "flavour-saver" didn't take top prize.

Bart goes for broke in the "Milkiest Moustache" competition, but takes home the "Fullest Moustache" award.

Brennan gives us his best "Highway Patrol Officer" impression.

Much to his delight, Franzky wins "Most Stylish".

Matt - locked and loaded.

Bow Cycle's First Annual Disc Golf Invitational

Bow Cycle held its First Annual Disc Golf Invitational on July 2nd at an undisclosed location. While the mosquitoes were in full force, it did not deter a turn out of 40 people. We played "Best Disc" in groups of four. Some groups managed to get in as many as 18 holes. Our group only managed to get in 3 holes and then we succumbed to the mosquitoes and thistles. The eventual winner was anyone that participated.

Representin' Bow at the Pimp My Bike Contest

On April 22, Bow Cycle hosted the premiere for "ROAM" - the latest film from The Collective. During the premiere, Bow Pimp Daddies Rabbit and JJ (pictured below) announced the winner of Bow Cycle's "Pimp My Bike" Contest. The lucky winner, J.P. Mousseau of Calgary, will receive the ultimate "pimp-over" for his older Santa Cruz Chameleon. Tiger-trimmed pimp jacket not included.

First Annual Bow Cycle Bowling Tournament

The first annual Bow Cycle bowling tournament came and went with great success! The tournament saw everything from a battered toe, mild handicaps, sore left buttocks, broken thumb nail (something to do with “jamming”), bum bowling, side bets, and varying degrees of hangovers. After three evenings of fierce competition, Team 3 “the Niners” (Barker, Daver, Bullits, Diana, and subs) and Team 2 (Trent, Joel, Port, James, and subs) progressed to the championship match. In the end it was Team 3 who took the championship by winning the final match by fifty pins. Their consistent play over three weeks of bowling paid off. They took home the winners purse of $300.00 in hard cold cash. Third place team overall was Team 4 (FYCF) with big scores from Bobby and Shaggy reeling in his biggest game after topping up with a few Pilsners during week three. Other mentionable awards go to Rabbit with the highest single game score of 194 and lowest 3 game average of 65 – nice job Rabbit (It&rsqo;s tough to be the best and the worst)! Larry-O put big numbers on the board every week which put him in line for the highest overall average of 138.44 and the highest 3 game average of 150.33 over three weeks of competition. We would like to thank our hosts Mountain View Bowlerama, for helping us put on a great event and keeping the fridge stocked with cold Pillies and - well not kicking us out. Thanks to all the staff who took part in the tournament – we look forward to the 2nd annual tournament next November. Rumor has it there is a curling tournament around the corner???
