Kelly's Race Report
Transalp Challenge '07
Monday July 23rd.
44th place
Anyhow we finished off 39th or something on the last day and maybe in the top 50 overall....we were not compatible at all, my buddy Walter did his best but I was rocking and have 1 killer photo to prove it.....I would ride up as far as I could after we would start in the second group (about 200 riders back) I would usually hit the top 15 teams or so and then wait for Walter at the first feed zone, BUT on the 5th day I decided to crack it as much as I could just to see how far up I could get......got to the FRONT after about 30 minutes and rode with the leaders from the Rocky Mountain team for about 25 minutes before stopping at the feed zone, I might have held on for another couple of KM 's but hey I was so stocked, such nice guys......can't wait to show you guys the photo!! Bring on the Rockies

Kelly tries to stay below the UCI limits for caffeine.

Trevor Lindon was stoked to meet the famous Kelly from Bow. Be sure to ask Kelly, who he is picking in the Pacific division next year. Nice Work Trevor on finishing the race!!

This climb can't go up there? No way that's not possible, we've already climbed.......oh yeah, it does go up there. Just another day at the TransAlp! This race rocked, 22,000 meters of climbing through some of the most beautiful scenery I've seen. Awesome descents on everything from the road, trail and even old Roman cobbles from the top of a mountain! To end in Riva del Garda was wicked...jump in the lake and let the legs begin to recover. The Scott Scale was the perfect bike for this race and having the Scott boys here to hook me up was primo. Off for some pizza, fly
home and then the TRANSROCKIES!

Kelly carb loading!! (Hey isn't your race over??)

Wilier Factory Tour

Nothing cooler than getting shown around the Wilier bicycle factory here in Italy by one of the owners, getting to see some whizzy Lampre team bikes and going out for a nice lunch near the factory! Thanks to Andrea Gastaldello for the look around and for the chance to see the home of Wilier bicycles...we all need a Cento don't we?

Hope he can use the wool Bow Cycle jersey we gave him soon....it's not likely in the next little while since it was +37 here today!

Ciao from Wilier
