Scale Wars - Attack of the XC riders!
Danny-boy and myself split for Kamloops for some XC riding this last
weekend and had a blast! We were treated to some nice dry weather
and met up with some local pinners. Danny-boy and I have the same
bike….the Scott Scale 10 and we decided to battle it out to see which
one was the better bike….thus Scale Wars had begun! We hit some
awesome twisty desert singletrack, the local BMX track and even some
nice urban assault action( I think my bike is better…it’s like 20lbs!)……..
One of these days I'll try this with a real bike instead of an imaginary one.
we ran into local KBC honcho Chuck Brennan (by the way KBC will be
ready to ride in about a month according to Chuck) and ex Canadian DH
Champ and World Cup ripper Dustin Adams who is busy building trails
for the newest epic XC MTB stage race…The Intermontane Challenge!
It’s set to go for the summer of 2009 and it’s packed full of SINGLETRACK!
This is Dustin’s first time back on the dirt since being a World Cup DH pro
and he is pumped to share what his backyard has to offer with the rest of
the world….and that my friends is tons of twisty and flowy singletrack ….
not to mention some savage climbs in there too……this race is going to ROCK!
The race is going to be 5 days and each day will begin and end in Kamloops
on a totally new stage each and everyday! Hotels and amazing food will be
the deal…so….no more crappy tents and pasta every night! By the way Dustin
is not a big fan of riding gravel roads for a week and calling that an epic race
so racers can expect THE MOST SINGLETRACK OF ANY MTB STAGE RACE
ON THE PLANET! For all of you MTB stage race crazies out there check out the

you can enter as a team of two or go SOLO!!!!!!! Finally
a stage race here in Canada where you can pin it on your own!
