Cyclocross

Norco Threshold C Frame/Fork
$2,199.00
The stiff, lightweight Threshold C delivers podium-seeking cyclocross speed and will have you wondering how one hour can take so long but hurt so good. It shouldn't come as a surprise that the rugged landscape and abundant precipitation of Canada's Pacific Coast is the ultimate place to develop and perfect a carbon fiber cyclocross bike. It helped us engineer the Threshold C's mid-modulus carbon frame and fork with ample mud clearance, size-scaled tubing and ovalized seatstays, and bent chainstays to dissipate shock for maximum CX performance. With every 'cross rider we know having their own secret race rituals and habits, we decided to make our premium cyclocross machine available as a frameset — so if you're one of those riders who know how you like your bike set up, then you can go to town! Thru-axles, compatibility with all modern drivetrain configurations, internal cable routing, and disc mounts allow maximum compatibility and an easy, effective build.
Norco Threshold C2
$3,499.00
The stiff, lightweight Threshold C2 delivers podium-seeking cyclocross speed and will have you wondering how one hour can take so long, but hurt so good. It shouldn't come as a surprise that the rugged landscape and abundant precipitation of Canada's Pacific Coast is the ultimate place to develop and perfect a carbon fiber cyclocross bike. It helped us engineer the Threshold C2's mid-modulus carbon frame and fork with ample mud clearance, size-scaled tubing, ovalized seatstays, and bent chainstays to dissipate shock and maximize CX performance. The Threshold C2 features a Shimano GRX wide-range 11-speed drivetrain and hydraulic disc brakes. Internally routed cables mean they won't get clogged after a lap in the sticky mud and snow. Sealed bearing thru-axle hubs are laced to WTB KOM Light i21 TCS Tubeless Ready rims, which support fast, sturdy Maxxis All-Terrene 33mm knobby tires.
Specialized CruX
$3,899.00
When we set out to design a new 'cross rig, we didn't just want to make another adventure bike with added tire clearance—we knew we had to create a purebred racing steed that was fast, confident, lightweight and rides like no other 'cross bike out there. And sure, with multiple Cyclocross World Championships to its name, the CruX has more than proven itself in 'cross, but we're proud to say that this CruX takes the legacy to a whole different level. This CruX comes spec'd with a reliable SRAM Apex 1 hydraulic disc groupset, durable Axis Elite Disc wheels, and 700x33mm Tracer Sport tires that hookup over nasty terrain. - Starting with the frame, we implemented our Rider-First Engineered technology that was first introduced on our Tarmacs. Using size-specific tubes and layups, this technology allows the CruX to feature the same ride characteristics across every size in the range. Not only this, but it also allowed us to significantly drop the frame weight, so the CruX now comes in around a scant 900 grams for a 56cm (*dependent on frame size and color)—over 400 grams lighter than the previous frameset. A light and stiff frame alone isn't useful in a 'cross race if it isn't compliant, however, which is why the new CruX also combines stiffness and compliance in all the right places. And to assist with the latter, we lowered the seat collar by two centimeters for more exposed seatpost and cushion for big hits. - We also know that cyclocross races are often won in the corners and over the barriers, which is why the CruX geometry takes this into account. The top tube has been designed for easy shouldering when you're hopping off to clear barriers, as it features a large opening to the front triangle and a flat bottom. For stability in the corners and on off-camber sections, the geometry has a low bottom bracket and a sharp front-end. This combination also helps to initiate corners, regardless of the terrain. - With maximum mud-shedding ability in mind, we included eight millimeters of clearance on all sides of a 33mm tire, providing plenty of clearance for muddy conditions. After all, frame weight becomes irrelevant when it's covered in 10 pounds of mud.
Kona Major Jake
$3,999.00
The Major Jake is the perfect bike for the serious racer that is still looking for something they can take on long cross-training rides. Kerry Werner and Rebecca Fahringer both rode it to numerous podiums during the 2019 CX season. A full carbon frame and fork make light work of climbs and punchy, steep obstacles. 700x33c Maxxis All Terrane tires, SRAM Rival 1x drivetrain, comfy Velo Shock-Proof bar tape, and hydraulic disc brakes make this bike race-ready right out of the box. Kona Carbon Designed to be lightweight and built to demanding standards. Carbon fiber has long been praised for its weight and strength, but rather than chase grams, we place our efforts on the performance that is possible when the right high-modulus fibers are in the right places. Our designers work very closely with our manufacturer to ensure there is no compromise to the desired ride characteristics, durability, and—finally—weight stipulations that we expect from our bikes. Internal Headset Bearing cups are actually pressed into the frame and are easily removable. An internal headset also reduces stack height, so the height of the stem and bars are more adjustable, giving the rider the best fit possible. Tapered Head Tube More girth at the bottom of the head tube better distributes shock force, prolonging the bearing life of the headset itself and eliminating brake shudder, while providing confident steering performance. The inherent strength of its triangular design also means a stronger steering position and improved balance, giving the rider more control in rough terrain. A zero-stack, tapered head tube also puts strength where the load is going—into the lower headset cup—maximizing bearing durability where it's needed. Tubeless Compatible Rims Tubeless rims allow for tires with more puncture resistance; the ability to run lower tire pressure, which provides better tire grip on the trail; lower rolling resistance; and weight savings over traditional tube and tire systems. 12x142mm Axle 12x142mm, 12x148, and 12x157 rear axle standards provide two major advantages to the Kona rider: the 12mm diameter of the rear axle provides the rear hub and frame with a stiff interface, while the 142/148/157mm outer dimension of the hub allows the wheel to be quickly and properly positioned in the frame before the rear axle is inserted.
